This exciting adventure introduces you to the fascinating major cities of the Iberian Peninsula, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Spend time in Portugal's capital city, Lisbon, known as the city set on seven hills, with its cobble-stoned pavements and narrow streets full of Art Nouveau cafes. The charm of Lisbon exists in its strong links to the past which includes some of the best known voyages of discovery (including Columbus' maiden voyage to discover the Americas). Its renovated palaces, magnificent churches, impressive castles, tapas and Fado mirror the city's rich cultural heritage make it a truly fascinating and comprehensive city to visit.
Onwards to magnificent Andalusia to the city of Seville and Cordoba. Nowhere else in Europe is the Moorish influence so present in the architecture and ingrained in its everyday living. Cosmopolitan Seville has it all, from the grand, formal gardens of the Parque Maria Luisa, to the Albazin castle in the gothic quarter. Life seems to literally breathe in the streets. Cordoba has one of the most unique structures in the Mezquita - a former mosque - turned cathedral (which speaks to its colorful religious past). Also, home of the famous Flamenco dance.
Head south to Gibraltar, an independent colony under British control since 1704. Visit the Rock of Gibraltar, St. Michael’s Cave and see the Barbary apes, legendary guardians of the colony! Later, take the scenic route along the Costa del Sol through exclusive resorts where the Mediterranean’s most expensive yachts lie moored before reaching Torremolinos. Touring Granada, with its stately Alhambra Palace surveying the city below is and forever will be majestic. Visit Mijas, a village that charms all before reaching Ronda, one of the oldest cities of Spain. Our route through the Sierra Bermeja mountain range is breathtaking. Its origin, according to archaelogical findings in the old city space belongs to the Neolithic age. Ronda is probably best known for its impressive 18th century bridge, which spans a 100m deep gorge and divides the old and new part of the town. Ronda is also home to the worlds oldest bullring which dates back to 1785.
